Okay, so when I mean i’m coming off Social Media for a month, I really mean Instagram. Facebook & Twitter I go on occasionally, but Instagram, I seem to scroll for hours, getting lost down a rabbit hole of peoples holidays, what they’ve been spending their money on, even what they have eaten for breakfast…..
Don’t get me wrong, I love the little community I’ve built on this APP, but I’ve decided no harm will be done if I take a step back and have a little digital detox.
The main reason for this, is that I started recording my weekly/daily screen time on my phone and it opened my eyes to how much I am checking my phone…
…For someone who didn’t think they went on their phone that much compared to some, my weekly screen time would be 15+ ours. One day, I spent 4 hours, FOUR hours on Instagram. What was I doing?! I always complain that I don’t have enough time for this blog, but I certainly do if I can spend four hours scrolling through an APP.
So yes, I will be coming off for a whole month, maybe even longer, who knows! To some, this may sound easy, but to some one like myself, who checks social media daily, it may not be the case! I will perhaps document this week by week – would that be of interest to anyone? Is anyone else in the same boat as me? Or do you all think this will be easy?Leave me comments below on your thoughts!
